Ring+Loop™ Notebook System

Small, lightweight Loops™ notebooks clip into a reusable binder for storage.

Loops are small, independently bound notebooks made with an unusual kind of staple. Its exposed loops slip directly onto binder rings—so books can be added, removed, reordered, carried separately, and archived without ever taking them apart.

Boundaries without permanence.

There is something unusually satisfying about pulling out a fresh notebook for a new idea, project or trip.

A Loop gives you that feeling without asking for a major commitment. It’s small. It’s light. There aren’t hundreds of blank pages waiting for you to become the person who fills them.

Use one for a weekend. A client. A month. Sketches for one strange idea. When you’re done, put it on the rings—or don’t.

Start small. Keep what matters.

A fresh start. Just not a very big one.

New notebooks can carry a surprising amount of pressure.

A Loop is deliberately small. Enough pages to give an idea somewhere to live, without requiring it to become anything more.

Start one before a trip. Give one to a new project. Keep one for sketches, lists, observations, names, colors, things to look up later.

Fill it. Don't fill it. Put it on the rings and start another.

Nothing extra.

Loops are deliberately simple. No big logo. No prescribed front or back. No decoration pretending to be function.

Just crisp edges, unusual materials, compact proportions and those funny little staples sticking out of the side.

The construction is the design.

Anatomy of a Loop

01 — COMPACT FORMAT

Small enough to disappear into a pocket. Substantial enough to feel like a real book.

02 — LOOP-STAPLED SPINE

Binds the book and creates its attachment points.

03 — UNPUNCHED PAGES

No holes interrupting the interior pages.

04 — SYMMETRICAL BINDING

No prescribed front, back, top or bottom.

05 — MADE FOR THE HAND

Small, thin and pleasantly finite.

06 — DISCREET MAKER'S MARK

A small mark where you'd least expect one.

We found the perfect binder!

We looked at a lot of binders.

The one we kept coming back to is a flexible, translucent trifold that does considerably more than hold Loops.

Six rings keep your notebooks together. Interior slots hold cards and folded cash. Two full-length pockets swallow receipts, scraps, documents and whatever else accumulates along the way.

And, somewhat miraculously, our favorite LePen fits neatly into the spine.

Loops on the rings. Pen in the spine. Everything else in the pockets.

05 / PEN IN THE SPINE

Work tools don’t have to be bland.

Loops pair bright colors, unexpected materials and satisfyingly small proportions with a system designed to be genuinely useful. Make one a home for a project, a trip, a passing obsession—or whatever deserves a little space of its own.

Just Small Enough

Pocket-sized, lightweight and easy to start. A Loop doesn't need to become your life's work.

Portable & Protected

Carry one. Carry five. Clip one into the binder. Pull another back out. There is no correct configuration.

Materials Welcome

Graph paper. Bright paper. Translucent paper. Reflective covers. Strange things we find and can't resist turning into notebooks.

Made in Michigan

Cut, folded and loop-stapled by hand in small batches. Expect variations. They're part of it.

It starts with a loop.

LOOP STAPLE / 6 MM

A loop staple is a specialized staple with one particularly useful trick: two tiny loops extend beyond the spine.

Those loops line up with compatible binder rings, allowing the entire notebook to click into place. No punched pages. No loose sheets. No taking the book apart.

Loop staples aren't new. They've been used in commercial binding for decades. Using them to build a tiny, modular notebook system is where things got interesting.
